Competitive Advantage – Gain advantage over competitors, for example Rolls-Royce is able to monitor the performance of their engines while in flight in real-time. This saves time and money and it reduces maintenance costs which results in them being able to offer cheaper prices to their customers.
Reduces costs – Cost saving can be made by developing the system so fewer people are needed to operate the system, this can save time.
An example is a Delivery man; he can use a system to plan routes for his delivery, so it saves time and distance.
Improved performance – This can be achieved by developing systems to deliver results more quickly, by making it easier for staff to use the systems and providing a more satisfying experience for its customers.
